I saw a bike while walking to Weaver Street Market Co-op in Carrboro, NC, an old bike ridden by a woman; a woman of well-reputation, brilliant, intellectual and an important administrator at a prominent school of a prominent university in the US.
Why that would that be so important? In my country, positions are attached to pompous shows. People must show their authority with the cars that they ride in, those cars must have special plates different than the ordinary people’s cars, and they must have drivers in suit with tie no matter how hot the weather is… The driver must jump off the car to rush to open the car door, if there is no security person assigned to do that. I am not against important people being watched for their own securities however why worry this much if they are not doing something wrong to be protected? Could it be that they do wrong acts, steal from people’s pockets? What makes us to be so attractive to these power symbols? I am trying to judge us in different value system frameworks, and can’t find a frame that might accept us as we are… We claim that we have a majority population as Muslims… Muslims Prophet who lived between 570-632 known with his humbleness, caring about destitute and usually sleeping with an empty stomach. We usually with some arrogance quote his saying: “Whose neighbor sleeps hungry can’t be considered as one of us.” We are filling our stomachs with unnecessary foods that will pile up to manure that is no use… Oh man! We are very good at this, arrogance. I don’t know how and when we started to be like this?
A bike, ridden by a woman… very interesting to me! I wish in my homeland people would feel that it is appropriate for a high official to ride a bike, and if that high official is a woman that would be also considered perfectly fine… Wish, wish, wish!
-Who cares of your wishes?
-No, don’t say that!
-Don’t you yourself persuade yourself in wishful and positive thinking? Haven’t you experienced that our approach reflects in our surroundings? And there is a recycling in that… a nice recycling… better than producing manure.
Intellectual, brilliant, and well reputed woman! You caused me some brain storming as if I have so much invested in these topics to discuss!
Oh, there is another point: I assume she also cares about environment… Maybe she does or doesn’t have a son in the battlefield to serve but she feels the whole pain of mothers for the sake of OIL! Imperium relies on oil… hush! We all rely on oil. So, let’s do something and save our environment by some clean air, therefore we can save from gas spending, and we can be healthier. Look at us; we are consuming more than we need. Once we become more considerate of others more than ourselves there might be hope for a change, starting from our front yards… My homeland, hear this voice, please hear! Be as you say, say as you are! So, we can also have some real human experiences instead of those artificial lives.
